2013 will be here before we know it, and as the new year approaches, Lyric Theatre of Oklahoma is preparing to celebrate our 50th anniversary! On January 9, 1963, the statement of purpose was written, and the first officers of the Board of Directors were elected. We have quite a few amazing activities planned for this celebratory year- here are a few highlights.
A Spectacular Season of 8 First-Rate Shows: We’re continuing 49 years of Lyric tradition by producing TARZAN, THE KING AND I, THE WILL ROGERS FOLLIES, and BIG RIVER at the Civic Center Music Hall, as well as SOME ENCHANTED EVENING, THE GLASS MENAGERIE, THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW, and LYRIC’S A CHRISTMAS CAROL at Lyric’s Plaza Theatre. It’s a season that you don’t want to miss!
A Fantastic Free Concert for the Entire Family: Lyric will present a free concert on June 1 featuring live entertainment at the Myriad Botanical Gardens. This event will be open to everyone! We’ll be presenting a preview of our 2013 season at the Civic Center, as well as a very special guest- more details will be coming soon!
50 Free Tickets to Each Show: On the first day of rehearsal for each production, we’ll be giving away 50 free tickets to each production! Tickets are limited to one per person and must be picked up in person at Lyric’s box office, located at 1727 NW 16th Street, beginning at 10 a.m. on the first day of rehearsal while supplies last. This offer is only for walk-ups and does not apply to online or over-the-phone orders. More details will be coming soon!
Broadway and Brew: Lyric’s Understudies will be presenting a fantastic new event on April 12: Broadway and Brew. This event will include local restaurants, breweries, and coffee houses in a marvelous evening that you won’t want to miss.
