Lyric uses volunteer ushers for all performances at the Plaza Theatre to assist in scanning patron tickets and directing patrons to their seats. Ushers arrive an hour before the show and are needed through intermission. Ushers are welcome to stay through the entire performance and watch the show from the back of the house. Lyric’s Plaza Theatre productions take place during the fall, winter and spring.

Volunteers are essential to fulfilling Lyric’s mission, providing critical assistance in a variety of customer service-oriented roles. We could use your help throughout our productions so, if you want to be a part of the festivities with us, here’s your chance!
And as Lyric’s way of saying “thank you,” volunteers assisting during a show are invited to watch that show for free.

Donor Reception
The Donor Reception Area is open nightly during intermission at every performance of Lyric’s productions at the Civic Center. Volunteers will setup and greet/serve patrons at intermission. Must be at least 18 years of age.
Lobby Hospitality
The lobby at the Civic Center during Lyric’s summer productions is always buzzing with activity. Hospitality volunteers are needed to assist with a variety of pre-show, intermission and post-show activities and experiences, including Lyric’s season renewal campaign, guest services table and post-show special experiences.
