Joao Dutra

JAOA PEDRO PENA DUTRA – Born in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, he began his musical studies at the age 14, under the guidance of Lina Pinheiro at Fundação de Educação Artística (Foundation of Artistic Education). In 2021, he graduated as a Bachelor of Music with major in Piano, in the Universidade do Estado de Minas Gerais (Minas Gerais State University, Brazil), in the class of the professor M. Junia Canton. Today, at age 27, Joao is a second-year graduate student in Piano Performance under the guidance of Dr. Sergio Monteiro , at the Oklahoma City University, where he also holds a Student Employee position as an accompanist. His performances include solo and chamber music, with repertoire ranging from the baroque to contemporary music, including a worldwide debut of a piece by Thais Montanari, in 2017.
