Here comes the 2017 season!

Here at Lyric, we feel that we are fortunate to have the power to bring people together and create an environment of open discussion through artistic expression. As we move through our season, we are excited to be creating theatre that promotes thoughtful discussion on the issues with which our country is grappling.

With that being said, we are excited to kick off our 2017 season on February 8th with a show that can facilitate conversation about the Presidency of the United States and the arguments, emotions, and opinions that it fosters.

For those of you that are not familiar with our first show, ASSASSINS, it does not glorify the killing of a President, but rather explores how extreme anger and violence affects the individual and the country as a whole. Written 27 years ago by Stephen Sondheim, one of America’s most renowned artists, ASSASSINS is even more interesting and impactful today. The show introduces us to some of America’s best-known, successful and attempted, presidential assassins and explores how the dissolution of the American dream can drive people so far as to kill a president. To help you become acquainted with our show’s characters, we would like to introduce you to some assassins in the show.
