Celebrate family with Tevye in one of the most beloved musicals of all time- FIDDLER ON THE ROOF! You’ll enjoy classics such as “Sunrise, Sunset”, “If I Were A Rich Man,” and “Matchmaker” in this brand new production. This production will incorporate American Sign Language as Deaf actors Sandra Mae Frank, who plays Hodel, and Christopher Tester, who plays Perchik, and two interpreters- Arthur Waldrip and Jesselyn Nakolo- will be incorporated on stage to fully communicate to our Deaf viewers.

This production follows Tevye’s family as he guides and narrates his story of living in rural Russia in a small Jewish town. Tevye and his wife Golde are working to raise their five daughters and teach them the traditions and customs of the family. Although it is a Jewish custom for a matchmaker to choose husbands for the daughters, his daughters have other ideas in mind. Three of the five daughters each falls in love with a man that doesn’t quite fit the image Tevye had in mind. Throughout the musical, Tevye examines his Jewish beliefs and questions how he can walk the pathway of his faith when the world around him is changing.

Lyric’s twist on the timeless tale is sure to take your breath away. Head over to the Civic Center to watch this classic come to life before your eyes. Lyric’s FIDDLER ON THE ROOF runs July 26 – July 30. Tickets can be purchased online here or by calling our box office at (405)524-9312.
