Do you love to create the magic of theatre?

Is singing or dancing not your thing, but you love to get your hands dirty with the set or lights?

Are you currently enrolled in 10th through 12th grade?

We have an amazing opportunity for you, The Institute.

We’re searching for the next generation of theatre technicians to participate in a hands-on experience of building, rehearsing, and running a production. Technical apprentices will have the opportunity to work with professionals in the field on three of our shows at the Civic Center: BYE BYE BIRDIE, SWEET CHARITY, and CALL ME MADAM.

The Institute will begin June 4th and will end July 8th. Participation is on a “Full time” basis, per Actors’ Equity Association rules, meaning 6 days/week, 8 hours per day, except during tech rehearsals, which will be approximately 12 hours per day. This means you’ll be working just like any other theatre professional would during the rehearsal and technical rehearsal process- a very rare opportunity!

We’ll be hosting an interview session on Sunday, March 11th, beginning at 2:00 PM. Sign up for interview times begins at 1:00 PM. Please bring a resume and two letters of recommendation from teachers, directors, or other theatre professionals that you have had the opportunity to work with. All interviews will be held at Lyric’s Plaza Theatre, located at 1725 NW 16th Street.

Do you have more questions? Contact John Fowler.

We hope to see you Sunday!
