One of the many special features of LYRIC’S A CHRISTMAS CAROL is that there are so many fantastic child actors included. Lyric is lucky to have a wealth of talented kids from the Thelma Gaylord Academy just itching to audition for our mainstage productions. So, this got us thinking…what would the kids say about the production? We asked a few of them questions and here’s what they said:

Ethan, 8

Q: What is LYRIC’S A CHRISTMAS CAROL about?

A: “A CHRISTMAS CAROL’s about a guy named Scrooge and these ghosts, three ghosts, trying to get him to be nice, and he figures out that in the future…he’s dead.”

Cassie, 11

Q: What is your favorite part of the show?

A: “My favorite part of A CHRISTMAS CAROL is probably the Ghost of Christmas Past flying in. It’s so cool! She just flies, like, three feet above your head in this giant sparkling gown and everyone’s like ‘ooooh’ and she’s just sparkling everywhere.”

Lillian, 9

Q: What’s your favorite song?

A: “My favorite song in A CHRISTMAS CAROL is probably ‘God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen’ because I just like the way it’s very fast and very, well, just awesome.”

Arden, 12

Q: Who is your favorite character?

A: “My most favorite character is, well, this isn’t a character, but Tommy Cunningham. I like all of the parts that he does, like the Ghost of…you know, Marley, and Mr. Fezziwig. I really like him.”

Hope, 16, Aaron, 13, and Natalie, 14

Q: What is your favorite song in the show?

A: “Our favorite song is ‘Fezziwig’ because it’s a dance number. It’s really up-to-beat and we like the fun costumes we get to wear during it and we just like dancing…dancing’s fun.”

Banton, 8

Q: What’s your favorite part of the show?

A: “My favorite part is the Fezziwig scene because it’s so lively and you get to dance and sing, and I like the music”

As you can see, the kids in the cast are in love with the production, just like the adults. Fall in love with LYRIC’S A CHRISTMAS CAROL now throughh December 29.
